Mary Claire Hogan
Mary Claire’s illustrations act as a microscope to magnify the splendor of the most populous and diverse group of living organisms on our planet. She celebrates the breathtaking beauty of these strange and fascinating creatures, which are so often overlooked because of their size or a misunderstanding of their importance in sustaining all life on earth. Working primarily in marker and colored pencil, Mary Claire looks to nature for inspiration, creating these insects on a larger-than-life scale.
A native of the Berkshires, Mary Claire splits her time between New York City and Monterey, MA with her husband and four children. She is a graduate of Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts at the New school and Parsons School of Design.
